Women Farmer Trainings

Within the scope of the ALP child labor principle, in order to keep children under the age of 18 away from hazardous work, the Development Workshop organized sectoral women grower awareness training before the period when labor was intense, such as the decimation and sorting period.

Women grower trainings were held in Karacasu, Esme, Tavas and Kale districts.

Training was provided on the negative effects of child labour on child development, hazardous work in tobacco farming, negative consequences of child labour, safe and fair working and living environment, use, storage and disposal of pesticides, emergency telephone numbers, green tobacco disease (Nicotine poisoning) and some precautions that can be taken, basic living conditions and working hours, and minimum wage.

Presentations and posters were prepared to be explained to women growers during training.

A total of 1,111

women

were reached in villages with a large number of children in Karacasu, Eşme, Tavas and Kale districts.
